Brno Philharmonic
The Brno Philharmonic (Czech: Filharmonie Brno ) is a philharmonic orchestra based in Brno , Czech Republic .
The predecessor institution of the Brno Philharmonic was the Czech Symphony Orchestra, which was founded in the 1870s. The current Brno Philharmonic emerged in 1956 from the merger of the radio orchestra with the Brno City Symphony Orchestra. Břetislav Bakala was its first chief conductor. Dennis Russell Davies has been the orchestra's chief conductor since 2018 .
