Philippe Plantade

Philippe Plantade (* 1958 in Paris ) is a French lawyer.

Plantade, son of a family with six children, studied law and history of institutional law at the Universities of Paris I and II. In 1980 he was admitted to the Paris bar. From 1988 to 2001 he was a member of the Military Tribunal. He was appointed Professor of Law at the Institut Catholique de Paris .

In 1993 he was accepted into the Order of Knights of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem . Since 2004 he has been its Grand Officer and a member of the French Lieutenancy. In 2012 he was appointed to the Grand Magisterium of the Knights of the Tomb in Rome. He is involved in various Catholic charitable works. Pope John Paul II honored him with the Order of Gregory .
