Philoteras

Philoteras was a Ptolemaic port city on the Red Sea . It is mentioned in the Periplus Maris Erythraei (40–70 AD) , among other places . Philoteras will u. a. identified with the port of Mersa Gawasis . Murray wants to equate it with a place inside the Wadi Gawasis.
