Phinikoudes ( Greek Φοινικούδες ) is the name for the beach promenade of Larnaka . This is where Athenon Avenue and Phinikoudes Beach are located.

history

The promenade was laid out in 1922, and the palm trees were also planted in that year. The name goes back on the one hand to the Phoenicians who once inhabited the city, on the other hand to the Greek name for palm trees (Phinkoudes = small palm trees). The length of the promenade is about 500 meters, the width varies between 30 and 500 meters.

The beach has showers and umbrellas, but bathing is forbidden during major events.
