Phraseanet is a digital asset management - software that 2,010 of Alchemy as open source has been released and both self-install on-premise as a software as a service is offered (Saas).
history
Phraseanet was developed by a single programmer in 1996, then still under the product name Phrasea , and distributed by Alchemy in France. For the time being, the software only runs on Power PCs with Mac OS as the operating system. When Apple fell into a serious crisis in 1997, the application was also ported to the Windows platform. In 2001 the hosting platform phraseanet.com was launched. In the years 2003 and 2004, the fourth generation under the name Phraseanet IV , based on standard technology such as MySQL, PHP and XML, was newly developed and launched in April 2005. In 2006, version 2.0 of Phraseanet IV appears during the Apple Expo Paris. At the Linux Solutions Exhibition in Paris, Alchemy announced a change in strategy and on March 16, 2010, released a first stable open source version 3.0.0 under the changed name Phraseanet the free license GPLv3 . The current version 3.8 will appear in September 2013. On April 6, 2016, Alchemy announced version 4 of its image management software at the Documentation exhibition in Paris. The integration of Elasticsearch will be a major innovation .

Great Phraseanet projects
Phraseanet is used in municipalities in Paris, Nice, Toulouse, Grenoble, Bordeaux, Montpellier, but also by the TV channels TF1 , France Télévisions , Canal + and the educational institutions University of Lille III and University of Paris III - Sorbonne Nouvelle.
