Excavations underneath the houses from the 19th century uncovered Fatimid structures that are associated with the Arab castle Al Halisah, after which the Kalsa district is named.

Giovanni Falcone

Diagonally opposite the Church of Magione, at Via Castrofilippo 1, was the house of the lawyer and mafia opponent Giovanni Falcone , and meetings are still held there today in memory of the attack on May 23, 1992, in which he died Life came. At the place where he lived, a memorial stone reminds of the famous lawyer.

Today the areas between the house walls are overgrown with grass and individual olive trees and are a popular meeting place and recreational area for the Palermitans.
