from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Since 1999 the Pictoplasma project in Berlin has been collecting, archiving and researching artistically reduced and abstract figure representations ( contemporary character design and art ) and has established a worldwide network of artists, designers, agencies and interested parties. The countless images that are gathered in Pictoplasma's web archive, publications and exhibitions examine the new possibilities and chances of the characters as symbols of an independent, graphic language. Pictoplasma is also the organizer of the annual Pictoplasma International Animation Festival and the Pictoplasma Conference .
