Pieces of Ice is a song by Diana Ross from the year 1983 , that of Marc Jordan and John Capek wrote as well as Gary Katz was produced. It appeared on the album "Ross".

Emergence

Pieces of Ice was created in various US studios as part of the production of the album "Ross", but was the only piece for which the mastering was taken over by the sound engineer Ted Jensen. The title was released as a single on June 17, 1983. It was Ross' only chart success from that album. Musically, Pieces of Ice can be assigned to the styles R&B and post-disco . Characteristic features of the production are the driving drums and the distinctive bass line played with a synthesizer .

The title did not appear on any of Ross' numerous compilations.

On the B-side of the single release for Pieces of Ice is the title Still in Love , the 12 "version contains the instrumental version.

Music video

Bob Giraldi , who has made several music videos with Diana Ross, also directed the production of the video clip for Pieces of Ice . In the music video Diana Ross presents the song in a red bodysuit and shows some dance choreographies designed by Michael Peters. It was the first music video in which Ross performed choreographies.
