The Piening GmbH is a personnel services company based in the East Westphalian city of Bielefeld - Sennestadt . Piening offers the services of temporary workers ( temporary ) staffing and outsourcing . In addition, the company offers specialized contacts for the areas of engineering, trade, IT, medical and assembly.
The company employs around 7,000 people in 2019 and is represented across Germany with more than 90 locations. According to the Lünendonk study, the company achieved sales of around 250 million euros in 2019. This makes the company one of the 10 largest temporary employment agencies in Germany.
Company history
The family business Piening was founded in 1979 by Agnes and Jürgen Piening in Bielefeld. Shortly afterwards, a building cleaning department was established. In December 1983 son Holger Piening joined the company. In 1994 the company was approved for private recruitment. In 1995 Holger Piening took over the management. In 1997 Piening received certification according to DIN EN ISO 9001. In 2001, the building cleaning branch was given up. In 2004 Piening had 1,700 employees and operated 17 branches. In 2006 Piening acquired a stake in the engineering service provider Gecad. In 2007, 2010, 2012, 2014, 2016, 2018 and 2020, the company was awarded the TOP JOB award according to a study by the University of St. Gallen, making it one of the 75 best employers in medium-sized companies. The subsidiary Piening Transfer was founded in 2010. Corporate social responsibility activities (CSR) are implemented as part of projects . This includes commitment in the areas of education and training.
Piening GmbH has been cooperating with expertplace networks group AG based in Cologne since 2014. In addition, this year Piening was awarded the “Marketing OWL” by the Marketing Club OWL for its successful marketing strategy.
In 2018 Louis Coenen was appointed as the second managing director alongside Holger Piening. On March 1, 2020, Robert Langhans, up to then authorized signatory and commercial director of the company, was appointed as a further member of the management.
