Pierre Thériault

Pierre Thériault (born February 11, 1930 in Arvida , † April 1, 1987 in Montreal ) was a Canadian actor.

Thériault initially belonged to the acting troupe of Jean Grimaldi . From 1951 to 1953 he was the master of the Cabaret Le Porte St-Jean in Quebec and then one of the founders of the Cabaret Les Trois Castors in Montreal, where he a. a. worked with Jacques Normand , Gilles Pellerin , Normand Hudon and Colette Bonheur . From 1956 to 1961 he presented the variety show Au p'tit café with Dominique Michel and Normand Hudon on Radio Canada television . During this time he also wrote more than 3,000 songs and stories for the youth program La Boîte à surprises from CBC Television .

He appeared as a columnist on television ( Appelez-moi Lise ) and radio ( Studio Vert ) and was known in children's programs as Monsieur Surprise ( Monsieur Surprise présente , 1967-72). He has also appeared in several movies, including the gangster Dominique in Réjeanne Padovani (1973), printer Robert in La Piastre (1976) and Irish drunkard in Un sourd dans la ville (1987).
