Pieter Wesseling

Pieter Wesseling (born August 18, 1942 in Rotterdam ) is a Dutch engineering scientist and applied mathematician who deals with numerical mathematics. He was a professor at the TU Delft .

Wesseling studied aircraft engineering at the TU Delft and received his doctorate in 1967 at Caltech with Paco Lagerstrom (The driving mechanism of strongly developed Taylor Vortex Flow).

He is particularly concerned with numerical fluid mechanics and wrote a standard work on multigrid methods .
