Mushroom museum meeting
The Mushroom Museum Treffen is the only mushroom museum in Austria and is located in the district of Winklern in the municipality of Treffen on Ossiacher See in the state of Carinthia .
Mushroom Museum
The museum, which has existed since 1991, is located in a former stable building with around 500 m² of exhibition space and primarily provides visitors with basic knowledge and the habitat of mushrooms. The museum includes an information point, a fantasy forest, a rock crystal and amethyst world, insights into a primeval local forest, a short film, a mini cinema, a children's handicraft corner and a special exhibition room for artists. The center of the museum is the educational trail, structured according to the four seasons, with over 130 different types of mushroom models made of cement that were milled with dental tools over a period of around twelve years.
