Pink slip party

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Pink-Slip-Party is colloquial from English, since in the USA letters of termination are referred to as pink slip (roughly “ pink slip ”, comparable to the “ blue letter ” in Germany). The parties came up around 2000 in the wake of the New Economy crisis in the USA . It describes a joint celebration of laid-off employees and potential employers and primarily pursues the purpose of making new contacts possible for the unemployed. Pink slip parties in Germany are arranged as casual job exchanges , which are also visited by employees who do not belong to the original target group in order to build networks.

history

When more and more companies from the New Economy were sending out pink slips in mid-2000 , the dismissed employees organized parties (celebrations) at which the proverbial pink bills (although not actually pink) acted like an entrance ticket. Pink slip parties of this kind are now held all over the world under this motto.
