Pipe Roll Society

The Pipe Roll Society is a not-for-profit British scientific society for the publication of medieval sources, especially tax records from the Public Record Office , the so-called Pipe Rolls . They are now kept in the National Archives in Kew, Surrey .

The Society was founded in 1883 and publications began in 1884. After activities had ceased in the meantime, the Society was revitalized in 1923 with historian Doris Mary Stenton as secretary.

The company kept the pipe rolls until the reign of Henry III. published (as of 2013).
