Pixelmacher was a magazine on the topics of video games and network culture on the television channel ZDFkultur .

The first episode aired on May 13, 2011, a few days after the TV channel started. The production was the successor to the magazine show new , which was discontinued after almost 20 years. The moderation took place from 2011 to 2012 by Lukas Koch . The chief editor was Valentina Hirsch. The format was broadcast on a weekly basis, but only every two weeks with the first broadcast of a new episode.

From January 2012 until it was discontinued in December 2013, Planet of the Games , in which a gorilla named Mr. Kaschke critically contributed his thoughts on games and network culture in essay style, was an integral part of the program.

In December 2013 the broadcast was discontinued.
