Pláticas de familia (1878–2003) is the third book by the former Spanish Prime Minister Leopoldo Calvo-Sotelo Bustelo . The book, which has not yet been translated into German, was published in Madrid in 2001.
The title quotes a verse by José Zorrilla y Moral , an author valued by Calvo-Sotelo Bustelo.

The book is about the family history and memories of the author, who was orphaned at the age of seven, about his childhood, his studies at the college of civil engineering and his first professional experience at Renfe , Perlofil SA and the Unión Española de Explosivos . The political background of the transition in Spain and the author's party-political experiences play an important role in the memoirs. Calvo-Sotelo Bustelo played a crucial role in overcoming the legacy of Franco's dictatorship and establishing democracy in Spain after the coup led by Antonio Tejero was crushed.

In the run-up to his book, the author researched various archives and the Spanish National Library . The book was published by his cousin Carlos Bustelo, politician of transition, and the journalist Justino Sinova in the historic Lhardy restaurant on December 3, 2003 in Madrid .
