The Plac Grunwaldzki (formerly Prussia Square ) is a large rectangular square in the Upper Silesian Gliwice (Gleiwitz) with a size of 4.85 hectares, mostly extends on the day a 3.9-hectare park. There is also a Soviet memorial cemetery on the square. The square is located southwest of the city center in the district of Wójtowa Wieś (Richtersdorf) between the streets Adama Mickiewicza, Króla Jana III Sobieskiego, Jana Długosza and Zawiszy Czarnego.

History and description

The square was laid out at the beginning of the 20th century. In 1951, a cemetery was laid out on the square for Soviet soldiers who died in the fighting for Gliwice in January 1945.

The park currently has a playground, a sports facility and a fitness facility. There is also an open-air cinema in the park. The trees in the park include English oaks and red ash trees.
