Place Louise-Catherine-Breslau-et-Madeleine-Zillhardt is a square in the 6th arrondissement of Paris named after the German painter Louise-Catherine Breslau and the French writer Madeleine Zillhardt .

History of origin

The two artists were students at the Académie Julian , in the 6th arrondissement. In the center of the art gallery district of Saint-Germain-des-Prés , the square is at the intersection of Rue de Buci, Rue Saint-André-des-Arts , Rue de l'Ancienne-Comédie, Rue Dauphine and Rue Mazarine .

Today's Place Louise Catherine Breslau and Madeleine Zillhardt

In 2018 the city of Paris officially named this public square “Place Louise-Catherine Breslau et Madeleine Zillhardt” in honor of this artist couple.
