Plamen Yurukov

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Plamen Lyubenow Jurukow ( Bulgarian Пламен Любенов Юруков ; born May 9, 1964 in Sofia ) is a Bulgarian politician and businessman. Between July 15, 2007 and December 21, 2008 he was party leader of the Union of Democratic Forces (UDK). He also speaks French, English and Russian.

He was elected chairman of the Union of Democratic Forces in 2007. In 2008, however, he did not stand for a new chairman in the first internal party elections he initiated by means of a ballot of all party members, but supported Rumen Christow's candidacy . When Martin Dimitrov won the vote, he announced that he would take legal action against the election.

In 2009, after a breakdown by the Sofia District Court, he tried to register the UDK for the European Parliament elections against the will and resolution of the new party leadership as part of a coalition with other conservative parties. This could happen because the Sofia District Court still (as of May 15, 2009) refused to register the new party leadership. After this procedure on the part of Jurukov and his colleagues, they were expelled from the party on May 4, 2009.

In February 2011 Yurukov founded the will, responsibility, tolerance - conservative party (from the Bulgarian: "Воля, отговорност, толерантност - консерватори" for short ВОТ / dt. WOT), of which he is also chairman.
