Kožlí (German Koschla ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located 16 kilometers northwest of Humpolec and belongs to the Okres Havlíčkův Brod .
geography
Kožlí is located between the Želivka and Sázava valleys on a ridge in the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands . The village is located on Ledečský kras, which includes the Čertovy díry at the Švihov drinking water reservoir .
Neighboring towns are Bohumilice in the north, Ledeč nad Sázavou in the Northeast, Bojiště and Malé Bojiště the east, Kouty in the southeast, Kamenná Lhota in the south, Šetějovice and Zahrádčice in the southwest, Budeč and Habrovčice the west and Hněvkovice , Štičí and Přemelovsko in the northwest.
history
Kožlí originated in the parish of Queen Swatawa , which originally consisted of dense forests , in the course of its settlement by the Vyšehrad collegiate chapter . The first mention of the place took place in 1352 in a certificate of ownership of Charles IV. After the destruction of Vyšehrad by the Hussites , Nikolaus Trčka of Lípa received the parish as a gift in 1436.
From 1974 the Želivka valley was flooded by the Švihov dam ; at the same time the village Žibřidovice in the valley was dissolved and flooded.
