In 1921 the village of Leskovice was established, which at that time consisted of 43 houses and had 256 inhabitants. In May 1945, Leskowitz was destroyed by the Waffen-SS and rebuilt with uniform houses after the war. In 1947 the village was assigned to the Okres Pacov. Since its abolition in 1961, Leskovice has belonged again to the Okres Pelhřimov .
Leskowitz massacre
In the last days of the Second World War there was an end- stage crime in Leskowitz . When the Wehrmacht withdrew , the German troops in Leskowitz were shot at by the Mistr Jan Hus partisan unit. On May 5 and 6, 1945, the Waffen SS occupied Leskowitz and murdered 25 residents. Most of the village was burned down. Because of the advancing Red Army it was no longer possible to completely destroy the place.
After the war ended, the victims of the massacre were buried in a mass grave in the Moraveč cemetery. In 2005, investigations into the former SS-Hauptsturmführer Walter Hauck (1918-2006) began in Prague for the massacre .
