history

The village of Michalowicz , which belongs to the Lipnice domain , was first mentioned in 1377. In 1436 wrote about King Sigismund the castle Lipnice with all accessories for faithful service hereditary to Nicholas Trčka of Lípa . Later the Lords Trčka from Lípa moved the seat of the lordship to Světlá . In 1633 Michalovice was assigned to the Okrouhlice estate . After the murder of Adam Erdmann Trčka von Lípa, Emperor Ferdinand II confiscated his property and those of his father Jan Rudolf Trčka von Lípa on March 29, 1634 , the total estimated value of which was 4,000,000 guilders ; the confiscation patent was confirmed in May 1636 by the Reichshofrat in Vienna. Philipp Adam zu Solms-Lich , who had acquired the Okrouhlice estate in 1637, sold Michalovice in 1640 because of high debts. Michalovice then belonged to the Friedenau estate and was then added to the Věž estate . In 1791 Michalovice and Květinov were separated from the Věž manor and sold to Baron Aloys Sarrasin.

In 1840 the village of Michalowitz , located in the Caslauer Kreis on Teutschbroder Chaussee, consisted of 31 houses in which 254 people lived. There was an inn in the village. A mill with a board saw ( Dočkalův Mlýn ) was located off by the Zbinow brook . The parish was in Krasnahora . Michalowitz remained subordinate to Gut Kwietenau until the middle of the 19th century .

After the abolition of patrimonial Michalovice formed from 1849 a district of the municipality Květinov in the judicial district Deutschbrod . In 1864 the owner of the Květinov manor, Prokop Richl ( Reichl ), had a new chateau built in Kvasetice . His daughter Berta signed the Kvasetice-Květinov manor to her husband Jaroslav Schmidt and his brother Zdeněk ( Zdeno ). From 1868 the village belonged to the Deutschbrod district . In 1869 Michalovice had 183 inhabitants and consisted of 30 houses. In the 1880s Michalovice broke away from Květinov and formed its own municipality. A one-class village school was also established during this time. In 1900 there were 215 people in Michalovice; in 1910 there were 234. The volunteer fire brigade was founded in 1910. In 1930 Michalovice had 199 inhabitants and consisted of 33 houses. In the course of the dissolution of the municipality Okrouhličtí Dvořáci , Šmolovy was umgemeindet on July 1, 1960 to Michalovice. On April 30, 1976 it was incorporated into Havlíčkův Brod . The primary school was closed in the 1970s due to insufficient student numbers and converted into a cultural center. On November 24, 1990, Michalovice broke away from Havlíčkův Brod after a referendum. In the 2001 census, 129 people lived in the community's 56 houses.
