history

Heřmanice was first mentioned in a document in 1281, when Abbot Jaroslav of the Benedictine monastery Wilmzell bought the village together with Malejovice from Smil von Lichtenburg . The oldest news about the church comes from 1352. In the 14th and 15th centuries there was a small fortress in Heřmanice as the seat of the lesser nobles. In 1398 the monastery redeemed the villages Heřmanitz and Pařižow, which had been pledged in the meantime. In 1421 the Hussites destroyed the monastery, after which various nobles seized the extensive monastery property. After the end of the Hussite Wars , the monastery was poorly restored, but the Benedictines did not succeed in recovering all of their goods. After the monastery was abandoned in 1575, King Rudolf II sold the desert monastery with the villages of Bučowitz, Heřmanitz, Borek, Hostaulitz, Zhoř , Jakubowitz, Zdanitz, Ponstwy, Kmec and Čestowitz as well as other accessories to Beneš Beneda from Nečtiny in 1577. At the end of the 17th century, the Counts Caretto von Milessimo acquired the Wilimow rule and later elevated it to the family entourage .

In 1840 the village Heřmanitz , also called Heřmaniček or Heřmaničky , in the Caslauer Kreis , consisted of 21 houses in which 161 people lived. There was a branch church of St. Bartholomäus, a stately farm , a mill and an inn. The parish and office was a monastery . Until the middle of the 19th century, Heřmanitz remained subject to the Wilimow family entourage .

After the abolition of patrimonial Heřmanice formed from 1849 with the district Bučovice a municipality in the judicial district of Habern . From 1868 the place belonged to the Časlau district . In 1869 Heřmanice had 167 inhabitants and consisted of 23 houses. In 1900 there were 155 people in Heřmanice, in 1910 there were 160. In the 1921 census, 247 people, including 246 Czechs, lived in the 39 houses of the municipality. In 1930 Heřmanice had 150 inhabitants and consisted of 25 houses. Since the territorial reform of 1960, the municipality has belonged to Okres Havlíčkův Brod . In 1961 it was incorporated into Vilémov . Heřmanice and Bučovice broke away from Vilémov on November 24, 1990 and formed the municipality of Heřmanice. In the 2001 census, 69 people lived in 41 houses in the municipality, 18 of them in Bučovice (14 houses) and 51 in Heřmanice (27 houses).
