Kochánov (German Kochendorf ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located nine kilometers south of Havlíčkův Brod and belongs to the Okres Havlíčkův Brod .
geography
Kochánov is located in the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands on the left above the valley of a small brook. The Bouchernův kopec ( Büchnerkoppe , 521 m) rises to the northwest and the Turkův kopec (598 m) to the southwest.
Neighboring towns are Lípa in the north, U Kostelíka and Suchá in the northeast, Okrouhlička in the east, Studénka in the southeast, Chyška in the south, Úhořilka in the southwest, Chválkov in the west and Dobrohostov in the northwest.
history
The village was first mentioned in writing in 1307.
After the abolition of patrimonial Kochanov formed a community in the Deutschbrod district from 1850 . The place belonged to the Iglauer language island and was mostly German populated. The German population was expelled after the Second World War . In 1961 Úhořilka was incorporated . In 1976 Kochánov became a district of Lípa . In 1990 the community came into being again.
