history

The village was first mentioned in writing in 1414 under the property of the Wilmzell Benedictine Abbey . During the decline of the monastery in 1547 the Trčka von Lípa lords took possession of the monastery. After the monastery was abandoned in 1575, King Rudolf II sold the Wilimow reign with the villages of Vrtěšice, Nasavrky, Zhoř and Jakubovice to Beneš Beneda of Nečtiny in 1577. In the second half of the 17th century, the Counts Caretto von Milessimo acquired the rule. In the revision of the Wilimow estate, created in 1681 under Karl Leopold Caretto von Milessimo, it emerges that Vrtěšice consisted of three farms at that time. In the 18th century, the Counts Caretto von Milessimo had the rule declared an entails. In 1787 there were five houses in Wrtiessicz .

In 1840 the village of Wrtieschitz or Wrtěssice in the Caslauer Kreis consisted of 15 houses in which 109 people lived. There was an inn in the village. The parish and office was a monastery . Until the middle of the 19th century, Wrtieschitz remained subordinate to the Wilimow family fideic commission .

After the abolition of patrimonial Vrtěšice formed from 1849 a district of the municipality Nasavrky in the judicial district of Habern . From 1868 the place belonged to the Časlau district . In 1869 Vrtěšice had 130 inhabitants and consisted of 19 houses. In 1900 there were 100 people living in Vrtěšice, in 1910 there were 115. In 1930 Vrtěšice had 85 inhabitants and consisted of 19 houses. Since the territorial reform of 1960 the village has belonged to Okres Havlíčkův Brod . In 1961 it was incorporated into Golčův Jeníkov. In the 2001 census, 21 people lived in the 17 houses in the village.
