The Fabini plan was an urban development plan drafted in 1928 for the Uruguayan capital Montevideo .

activities

The plan was drafted by the engineer and politician Juan Pedro Fabini (1876–1962) and dealt exclusively with the redesign of the road layout. The plan included widening Rambla Portuaria to 60 meters or extending Calle Ciudadela to a width of 22 meters between Plaza Independencia and Rambla Sur . A first version of the plan was presented in October 1927. The definitive plan was approved by the Concejo de Administració de Montevideo on September 17, 1928 .

Both planning and implementation were the responsibility of the state. However, it was initially not implemented, so that around 1954 there were no signs of implementation, and by 1975 the intended redesign measures had largely not yet been carried out.
