Plantibody is a trunk word made up of plant (plant) and antibody ( antibody ). He describes the technique that mammalian antibodies are produced in genetically modified plants . The aim is to use plant systems more efficiently and cost-effectively than cultures of mammalian cells. The antibodies obtained in this way can be used, among other things, for immunochemical detection such as ELISA .
