Plasma (theater group)

"WALK DON'T WALK" PLASMA project 11, director: Lukas Bangerter

Plasma is a Swiss theater group . It was founded in 2000 by members Lukas Bangerter (director, text, stage) and Wowo Habdank (drama).

The aesthetic of Plasma moves on the borders between theater, music and visual arts. The theater projects are characterized by an idiosyncratic signature: multi-layered, yet reduced in terms of means, technically and musically. The precise scores seem to play with relish with the possibilities of the medium theater and use light, sound, action and language as equal means in a total work of art.

One focus of Plasma's work since the beginning has been the attempt to free language from its sole task of conveying information. Lukas Bangerter's productions are not linear treatises. They can be read both as live installations and as staged concerts and testify to the will to turn form into content and content into form. Text and set design are always by Lukas Bangerter.

Plasma is regularly invited to international festivals. In addition to the Wiener Festwochen, the IMPULSE theater festival, the Seoul Performing Arts Festival in Korea, the Fadjr theater festival in Tehran, Baltic Circle in Helsinki, Reminiscencje Teatralne in Krakow, Spielart in Munich and euro-scene in Leipzig, festivals and venues were also shown works in Ljubljana, Mumbai, New Delhi, Dresden, Berlin, Seoul, Oslo, Skopje and Dublin.
