Plate exposure

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The plate imaging is a prepress especially in offset printing and flexography . The image to be printed is blasted onto the printing form precursor. In principle, any radiation is suitable for this purpose which produces a physical or, preferably, permanent chemical differentiation on the printing form precursor, which in the development step allows the printing form to be formed in printing and non-printing areas.

Today, plates are exposed directly using the CTP ( computer to plate ) process.
