The Playfish Ltd. was a UK subsidiary of Electronic Arts that provided free games for social networks such as Facebook and MySpace (social games).

The company, which was founded in 2007, has long been one of the largest providers with 150 million installed games and around 60 million active users per month. The company's most successful titles include the Facebook games Pet Society , Restaurant City and Country Story . In November 2009, Playfish was acquired by Electronic Arts for at least $ 275 million.

In April 2013, the discontinuation of all remaining games by Playfish was announced due to the waning interest and all activities were bundled in the EA subsidiary PopCap Games .
