Thomas Bellay

Thomas Bellay (born July 12, 1960 in Munich ) is a German lawyer and judge at the Federal Court of Justice .

Life

He began his career in 1989 in the higher Bavarian judicial service. After his probationary period in 1992, he became a public prosecutor . From 1993 to the end of February 1994, he was seconded to the Leipzig Regional Court as a judge by order . He was then appointed judge at the Würzburg Regional Court and in December 1994 seconded to the Federal Court of Justice as a research assistant, where he worked for three years. From 2001 to 2003 he was seconded to the Federal Constitutional Court as a research assistant before he was seconded as a judge to the Bamberg Regional Court and in 2004 became a public prosecutor as a group leader at the Würzburg public prosecutor's office. In 2005 he became senior public prosecutor and then presiding judge at the district court of Würzburg. On January 4, 2010, he began his service as a judge at the Federal Court of Justice and was assigned to the 5th Criminal Senate of the Federal Court of Justice , which deals with appeals from the districts of the Court of Appeal and the Higher Regional Courts of Brandenburg , Braunschweig , Bremen , Dresden , Hamburg and Schleswig .
