The Plaza Fuerte Hotel, formerly known as Hotel Artigas , is a building in the Uruguayan capital of Montevideo .

The building, erected in 1913, is located in the Ciudad Vieja on Calle Bartolomé Miter 1359-1363, corner Sarandí 645-649 . The architect mentioned in the building permit is C. Facello , the construction was carried out by Julio Baroffio y Hno . The building, designed as a commercial building and hotel building, initially housed the Hotel Artigas. After restoration work between 1990 and 1995 under the direction of architects Sergio Gayo and ME Pisani , it is now used by the eponymous hotel. There are also business premises on the ground floor. The 22 meter high, six-storey building covers a floor area of ​​276 m².
