Plethysmography
Plethysmography ( Greek . Plethys = Abundance, graphein write =) is a measuring method can be measured with the volume variations of a body part or organ. It is used e.g. B. as:
- Occlusion plethysmography for the diagnosis of arterial and venous circulatory disorders in legs and arms,
- Body plethysmography to test the function of the lungs,
- penile plethysmography ( phallography ) to determine the degree of erection of the penis.
- Finger plethysmography, used to measure finger volume related to pulse .
- Air displacement plethysmography for determining the body composition , in particular the body fat percentage, in humans
