The Plexus Corporation is a contract manufacturer of electronic assemblies and devices for the areas of network technology, wireless networks, medical technology, defense technology and aviation security technology. The company's headquarters are in Neenah, Wisconsin. In addition, Plexus has manufacturing and sales locations in North America, Mexico, Germany, Scotland, Romania, China and Malaysia. Plexus was founded in 1980.

Plexus acts as a provider of services for the manufacture and development of electronic products. All products are developed and produced exclusively on behalf of OEM companies. There are therefore no products with the brand name Plexus. It follows the pure EMS business model.
history
Plexus was founded in 1979 in Wisconsin with the idea of combining engineering and design services with manufacturing services. In 1986 Plexus went public with annual sales of $ 24 million; in 1997 the company had annual sales of $ 400 million. In the years that followed, Plexus, like the entire EMS industry, benefited greatly from the dot-com bubble and continued to grow. After the Internet bubble burst, the company had to cope with a sharp drop in sales, which led to extensive restructuring measures.

Today Plexus is a global company with offices in America, Europe and Asia. Plexus employs around 8,000 people worldwide and had annual sales of around 1.6 billion dollars in 2009. Plexus describes itself as the "Product Realization Company" and offers services for the development of products, production optimization of products, product launch for series production including prototype construction, series production, logistics and repair and after-sales services. Plexus focuses on the telecommunications, industry, medical technology and aerospace industries including military technology for small to medium production volumes.
