Poensgen Foundation

The CR Poensgen Foundation was one of the first management institutes in Germany based in Düsseldorf . It was founded in 1956 by the Düsseldorf Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK) and representatives of the North Rhine-Westphalian industry. The namesake Carl Rudolf Poensgen (1863–1946) was the longstanding president of the Düsseldorf Chamber of Commerce .

The idea of ​​the founders was to prepare business leaders across companies for new, more comprehensive tasks in their companies. To this end, the foundation held seminars and advanced training events for executives in order to promote personnel development in business outside of the company as well.

With the aim of using synergies in the training market and developing joint projects for the future, the CR Poensgen Foundation was founded in June 1998 by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Personalführung e. V. affiliated. As a dependent foundation in the DGFP e. V. the C. R. Poensgen Foundation was dissolved on June 30, 2009.

Program parts of the foundation are carried out by DGFP e. V. continues to be offered and carried out. The regular meetings of the “Poensgenians” will continue to be held by the DGFP e. V. organized.
