The German Society for Personnel Management eV (DGFP) is a German specialist organization for personnel management . It has existed since 1952, has its headquarters in Frankfurt am Main and, according to its own statements, represents 2,500 members. Ordinary memberships are given to companies, and extraordinary memberships can also include individuals.

Objectives and areas of responsibility

The goal of the self-reported non-profit association is to support human resources, i.e. dealing with employees, especially in larger companies and corporations. In practice, research and teaching, the DGFP wants to promote this "professionalization of personnel management". The professional association is also a founding member of the EAPM (European Association for People Management).

The services include a network of up to 125 groups to share experiences . The company organizes seminars, conferences and training programs for HR administrators and HR managers across Germany. In 2016, the DGFP reduced its locations according to its own press release of May 5, 2015 to Frankfurt am Main and a "capital city office" in Berlin.

On the basis of studies and practical experience of its members, the DGFP creates information for human resources work. The DGFP publishes the specialist magazine PERSONALführung on a monthly basis ; in addition, specialist articles in the form of practical papers and in the book series PraxisEdition appear at irregular intervals.

In addition, the DGFP maintained the documentation center "Personalwissen direkt", an information and knowledge pool for personnel management with over 10,000 documents. The stock of documents could be researched and retrieved online for regular member companies, and an inventory library with around 4,200 titles was open to anyone interested in the Düsseldorf location. The DGFP Congress is held annually in various major German cities. The up to 1,000 participants in the best times of the DGFP Congress including the DGFP trade fair will no longer be reached by successor formats such as the "DGFP // Congress" and the "DGFP // Lab".

history

The association was founded in 1952 a. a. founded by Walter Scheel and Alfred Müller-Armack . Under the name "Der Neue Betrieb" (DNB), the association initially pursued the goal of pooling efforts and experiences to improve human relationships in the companies and promoting them through progressive forms of business, in particular through profit sharing. When the company was founded, personnel matters were primarily handled administratively.

In 1967 the name was changed to "German Society for Personnel Management". Since then, the DGFP has continued to work on supporting operational human resources. In addition to the registered association, the DGFP - Deutsche Gesellschaft für Personalführung mbH - has been part of the DGFP since 1989. From 1998 to 2009 the CR Poensgen Foundation was one of them.

After Gerold Frick left the DGFP, it was temporarily headed by his deputy Hendrik Leuschke until 2013. In 2013 Katharina Heuer became chairman of the management board and initiated a radical change in the association towards "a more open, attractive and, in particular, member-oriented DGFP". In this context, an extensive internal change of personnel took place at DGFP, accompanied by a consulting company.
