Günther Fleig

Günther Fleig (born February 2, 1949 in Mönchweiler / Black Forest) was Head of Human Resources at Daimler AG from October 1, 1999 to April 8, 2009 .

Life

Fleig studied economics at the University of Freiburg and graduated with a diploma.

His professional career began in 1972 at the auditing and tax consultancy firm KPMG, before moving to what was then Daimler-Benz AG in 1980. His task there was to set up world accounting. From 1983 he was Head of Finance and Controlling at WMF AG. In 1988 he returned to Daimler-Benz AG, where he became Director of Finance and Controlling at Mercedes-Benz AG in 1990. In 1992 Günther Fleig took over the commercial management of the Untertürkheim plant. In 1996 he became head of Mercedes-Benz France and later took on the role of Group representative of Daimler-Benz AG in France.
