Polifilm is a German chemical company based in Cologne . The company produces plastic films made of polyethylene on over 70 extrusion lines for various applications in packaging, the construction, agricultural and automotive industries and other areas.

The company was founded in 1972 as Poli-Folien Vertriebs GmbH by Lutz Runkel. In 1980 the first foreign branch was opened. After reunification, the Orbita-Film subsidiary was founded in Weißandt-Gölzau , the former location of Orbitaplast , in 1991 . Orbita-Film also took the name Polifilm from 2013. Production and sales locations are maintained in several countries around the world.
