Police operations center

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Police Operations Center (PEZ) is a term that designates the control center of the police in a larger city, district, government or administrative district.

From this point the radio patrol cars are primarily deployed in the 4-meter and 2-meter band according to their position. This is also the headquarters where the emergency call (telephone number 110) is usually received. Due to the federal structure of Germany (the organization of the state police is a matter for the states), many different names have emerged over the decades. Examples include five other abbreviations that are used internally: EZ (operations center), ELSt (operations control center), ELZ (operations control center), LZ04 (situation center and subdivision 04), LFZ (situation and command center), FLZ ( Command and control center).

With the national police regulations 100, the term control center has been established as the official name. Control centers are permanent management bodies of the police authorities. In emergencies, the measures are coordinated there until they are taken over by another management body.
