The Polk County Courthouse in Des Moines , the Justice and Administration Building ( Courthouse ) of Polk County in the center of the US -amerikanischen state of Iowa .
history
Polk County's first courthouse was built in 1847. It was sold to a church when a new building was constructed in 1858.
The current building in Beaux Arts style was erected on the same site until 1906 under the commissioned architecture firm Proudfoot & Bird .
The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979 with reference number 79000925 .
