Pollegada

The Pollegada was a Brazilian-Portuguese measure of length in the Kingdom of Brazil and corresponded to customs . A law of April 24, 1835 was supposed to bring improvements in measurement.

  • 1 pollegada = 1.5 dedo (finger width) = 6 grãos (barley grains)
  • 1 Pollegada = 12 Linhas = 144 Pontos (line and dots)
  • 8 pollegadas = 1 palmo de craveiro ( span ) = 97.525 Parisian lines = 0.22 meters
  • 12 pollegadas = 1.5 palmo = 1 pé ( feet ) = 146.2877 Paris lines = 0.3285 meters
