The Pollux Rock is next to the northern Castor Rock one of two cliffs off the south coast of Vindication Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands .

The crew of the Discovery II named both cliffs in 1930 in the course of surveys as part of the British Discovery Investigations as Castor and Pollux after the brothers Castor and Pollux from Greek mythology. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee decided in 1971 to split the common naming individually to both cliffs.
