The Polverara chicken is an ancient Italian breed of chicken. It comes from Polverara in the province of Padua and belongs to the group of crested hens . Its origins, like those of the Paduan chicken , which is related to it , are believed to be in Eastern Europe. The breed exists with black and white plumage and has a V-shaped crest in front of the hood.
