Pomeranian yearbooks
The Pomeranian Yearbooks were the club magazine of the Rügisch-Pommerschen Geschichtsverein zu Greifswald and Stralsund . It was published in principle as a yearbook from 1900 , and a total of 34 volumes were published. There were interruptions in 1919 and from 1922 to 1925. In addition, three supplementary volumes were published. In 1940 the magazine ceased to appear.
In a certain way, the Greifswald-Stralsund yearbook published from 1961 can be regarded as the continuation, even if it did not function as a club magazine under the circumstances in the GDR and its publication was completely discontinued in 1982 after several interruptions.
In 1996 the Society for Pomeranian History, Archeology and Art decided. V. to add the title “Pomeranian Yearbooks for Regional History” to their club magazine, Baltic Studies . This was intended to emphasize that the company saw itself as the successor to the Rügisch-Pomeranian History Association, which was not revived after 1945 and which in turn emerged in 1899 from the Greifswald department of the company.
