The Pont des Martyrs is a bridge in the Malian capital Bamako .

The bridge named Pont de Badalabougou, opened in 1957, was built by Mali during the French colonial era. It was renamed in 1961 after independence. It runs the RN7 ( Route nationale 7 ) over the Niger River and connects the older city center of the Malian capital on the north bank with the suburbs on the south bank and the airport Aéroport international de Bamako-Sénou .

The approximately 600 meter long two-lane bridge with 22 support pillars was built using reinforced concrete technology .
