Pontus Wikner

Pontus Wikner (born May 19, 1837 , † May 16, 1888 ; actually Karl Pontus Wikner ) was a Swedish philosopher and writer .

Wikner was a lecturer in theoretical philosophy in Uppsala between 1863 and 1884 . In 1884 he accepted a professorship in philosophy in Kristiania . Wikner was a student of Christopher Jacob Boström . Later he saw the holy will in God and opposed Bostrom's teaching of absolute reason. Alongside Viktor Rydberg , Wikner shaped Swedish religious idealism in the 19th century.
