The Popple Peak ( Afrikaans : Popplepiek ; also Khoko-Ntso, Khoko-Ntšo ) is a mountain massif in the Drakensberg , South Africa . It stands in the border area between South Africa and Lesotho , with the summit in the territory of Lesotho. The mountain is 3331 m high and towers over the layers of the surrounding mountains by up to 300 m. About four kilometers (as the crow flies) to the northwest lies the summit of Njesuthi .
The summit was named after John Poppleton, who reached the mountaintop with Barry Anderson and Des Watkins in 1946.
