Pearl Thomson , previously Porl (Paul) Stephen Thompson (born November 8, 1957 in London ) is an English guitarist and painter.

Thompson was a member of the British alternative band The Cure from 1977 to 1979 and from 1984 to 1992 . He was also responsible for the design of some Cure covers with his company Parched Art and contributed significantly to the image of the band with his inimitable style. After leaving The Cure for the second time, he also made a name for himself as a painter and exhibited his works in well-known galleries in England, the USA and Australia. He also played guitar for Page & Plant in the 1990s . From June 2005 to 2008 Thompson played again with The Cure. After he left again in April 2012, he started an online auction of all the equipment he used at The Cure and various works of art designed by him for the band's covers. He gave himself an increasingly feminine appearance and in 2012 changed his first name to 'Pearl'.
