A Porrón [ pɔrɔn ] on Catalan Porro [ puro ] German a bill Krug , is a glass - or clay vessels from Spain with a filling opening up and a funnel-shaped drinking tube with a narrow spout on the side of the traditional in Catalonia , Aragon and Valencia is used .

The Porrón usually holds 3/4 liter and is used for drinking water, but especially for drinking wine . For this, the head is placed back and the Porrón is lifted and tilted over the head. The liquid now shoots in a thin stream from the drinking tube directly into the mouth without it touching the vessel. The difficulty is to hit your mouth accurately and swallow the liquid without closing your mouth. The faster the execution and the longer the beam, the more difficult the execution. The principle is the same as with the Bota . However, this is more likely to be used on the go, while the Porrón is used at the dining table and in traditional restaurants.
