from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Porsche P 111 L is a tractor from Porsche-Diesel Motorenbau GmbH , which was based in Friedrichshafen on Lake Constance and took over tractor production from the Allgaier works from 1956 from 1957.

The P 111 L was equipped with particularly modern equipment, which in addition to a sprung seat and a complete lighting system from Bosch also included a mechanical inner-jaw brake and a fender seat . An air-cooled 1-cylinder - diesel engine with four-stroke swirl chamber technique, with up to 16.5 km / h reached the tractor, provided for the drive of the 950  kg heavy and 2.75 m long tractor. The engine of the P 111 L had a displacement of 822 cm³ and was also equipped with a gear change gearbox from Getrag, which had a total of eight gears (four forward and four reverse). A single-disc dry clutch from Fichtel & Sachs ensured easy switching . In particular, the modern injection system from Bosch and the double-bearing crankshaft made the tractor a modern agricultural machine. To protect against overheating, the Porsche tractor was also equipped with a fan cooling system and a remote thermometer. Like many Porsche tractors from the time, the P 111 L also had a front telescopic pendulum axle with adjustable track width and a rigid rear portal axle.

The particularly robust technology, the powerful engine and the modern equipment made the P 111 L a popular tractor in forestry and agriculture . In 1957, the Porsche P 111 L was finally replaced by the Porsche Junior 4.
